Supporting WhoNews
Recently, Combom decided to support WhoNews - an iPod/iPhone application distributor of Doctor Who news which sends off all of its earnings to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I, personally, am already an avid supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation - and I'm pleased that the creator of the WhoNews application has decided to support this charity also. I encourage any Whovian who own's an iPod or iPhone to buy the WhoNews application from the iTunes store - after all your money will go straight to the charity which has such a profound effect amongst the British public. As you may have noticed, I've installed a news-feed from WhoNews in support towards the valiant cause. (I've also bought the app, and it's pretty good!)
Simultaneous Christmas Broadcast!
The latest Doctor Who Christmas special (A Christmas Carol) is to be broadcast in the United States on the same day it's shown in the United Kingdom - that being Christmas day! So, finally, we've got some equality in the Whoniverse. Who's with me in saying: HURRRRAAAAAAHHHH! (Or Hurray; depends where you're from).

By the way, it's worth having a read of this article as it mentions BBC America's Doctor Who-themed run-up towards the Christmas special.
Just Thought I'd Bring to Your Attention...
Just thought I'd bring to your attention a rather useful and informative site which focuses mainly on what will happen in Doctor Who's near-future. It deals with production details, plot points, and a variety of other things that have that 'spoiler' odour. Here it is, enjoy: http://doctorwhospoilers.ueuo.com/
Steven Moffat Won't Bring Back Ianto (Aww...)
Yup, that's right. The Sun reports that the Moff has no interest in bringing back the homosexual guy who died when the population of the world's children were demanded by an angry pelican from space. Apparently, 'hundreds of fans' still want Ianto Jones, played by Gareth David-Lloyd, back. And they're sending their pleas to the guy who doesn't even have anything to do with Torchwood! But what if they want Ianto in Doctor Who? Well, they don't. They want him back in Torchwood. And the guy who does Torchwood is...
Writing on Twitter, the Moff said: "Ianto fans only: Russell's character, and I thought his death scene was brilliant. Not reversing it. Stop asking."
He added: "Torchwood is Russell's — nothing to do with me."

The Pharos Institute Begins Reporting!
Hello/bonjour/hola/guten tag! (I'm aiming internationally...)
Mark this day in your calendars/notebooks and variously-coloured binders because today is the day that the Pharos Institute made its arrival! Oh yes/oui/Sí/ja/da (that last one's Russian), we have touched down. And we've got presents. A whole sleigh full of 'em! We're bringing you the latest, and greatest, in the entire Whoniverse (for those who obviously have never been furiously attacked by an e-Whovian - Doctor Who fan with the internet - for, perhaps, liking some of the 80s stuff, or maybe enjoying the annual Dalek finale, then the 'Whoniverse' is... a portmanteau of the words "Who" and "universe", is a word used to describe the fictional setting of the television series Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures, as well as other related stories. The term is often used to link characters, ideas or items which are seen across multiple productions, such as Sarah Jane Smith from Doctor Who, K-9 and Company and The Sarah Jane Adventures, or Jack Harkness from Doctor Who and Torchwood. Thanks, Wikipedia.)
Being a fan/general-stalker of the near-50 year-old TV show, (that's Doctor Who, by the way. And you call yourself a Whovian - pffftt...), I'm quite pleased that my hands, eyes, brain and toes have decided to go against my wishes and create the blog. Now you may be asking: what do his toes have anything to do with it?! And you'd have every reason to; they have absolutely no relevance at all. Of course I'm not insane - if I was insane I'd join the league of Outpost Gallifrey's Jonathan-Nathan-Turner-is-satan-and-Russell-T-Davies-is-his -Faustus-Association.

Anyway, I suppose what I want this blog to do and what I want this blog to become are two different things. Obviously, I'd like this to sit amongst the Whoniverse goliaths (Combom and Blogtor) and whether it will remains to be seen. But even if I have the smallest following. If only one person is reading, I'll keep on fetching in the news. Informing whoever it might be - nerd/socialist/communist/hobbit - because my passion is Doctor Who, and that won't change. So, yeah, take note; this is the day the Pharos Project came into existence! From humble beginnings, and bringing you the news, in word-form - even if you're illiterate and have eyesight problems.
A new era has begun, and I hope you enjoy it!
